Our 2013 travels have begun - and not a moment too soon. We are homeless for three months and like stray waifs we will be wandering the world! Our first stop is here in Adelaide where we are catching up with our family.
Sometimes when we visit Adelaide, we wonder why we travel on to Paris. Being "foodies" we always head straight for the Central Market here. There is a French phrase,
Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose (the more things change, the more they remain the same) Over a period of forty years,we have seen the market change from a mass of competing fruit and vegetable stalls to something more modern, yet it always remains the same - the Central Market, central because it is right in the heart of the city. Gabriel Gaté, the French chef, once told us that we should fight tooth and nail if there is ever a chance of losing this wonderful facility. Here are some pictures taken in the market.

The weather is extremely hot and unusually humid for March. It is anticipated that it will remain above the 30 degree mark for about a fortnight. Yesterday it was 37 degrees with 27 overnight! Fortunately we have an air conditioned car. We'll have more to say in a few days. Until then, au revoir.
