Le weekend Pascal

As we noted with regard to the schools, there is a kind of schizophrenia about religion in France, or at least in Paris. On the one hand, churches seems to be doing a wonderful business, but that has not stopped many, if not most, of other businesses from staying open. However there are some exceptions. Our local butcher was closed today and displaying a message as to how he was spending the day.

There are more Easter decorations than we would expect to see in our local shops in Australia. Here is a display in front of our butcher shop yesterday and another which we noticed in, of all places, a real estate office.

We chose to mark Easter Sunday by doing very little, staying indoors (the temperature struggled to get to five degrees), and trying to keep warm, read and do puzzles. We also managed a little transcription work. And speaking of transcription work it is indicative of how easily we fall into a pattern here. We get up, shower, dress and do an hours transcription before actually staring the day.

The first of April tomorrow and we will need to recharge our Navigo cards. But more about that later.
